Tanja Planinic is a partner and member of Pestalozzi’s Litigation and Arbitration group in Zurich. Her practice focuses on domestic and international commercial litigation and arbitration, and on judicial assistance in cross-border disputes. Tanja Planinic acted as party counsel in numerous institutional and ad hoc international arbitrations, notably in matters relating to commodity sales and trading, joint ventures and distributorships.

Tanja Planinic graduated from the University of Lausanne in 1996 and obtained a Master of Law degree from the University of Cambridge in 2001 (British Chevening Scholar). She was admitted to the bar in 1999. Prior to joining Pestalozzi in 2002, Tanja Planinic served as a law clerk at the Supreme Court of the Canton of Berne (Civil Chambers and Commercial Court) and she was a staff attorney at the Claims Resolution Tribunal for Dormant Accounts in Zurich (CRT). From 1997 to 2007, she also worked on an ad hoc basis for a Federal Appeals Commission, which is now part of the Swiss Federal Administrative Court. In 2007, Tanja Planinic was an associate in the International Arbitration Group of WilmerHale in London. She practices in English, French and German, and she speaks Serbo-Croatian and Italian.
